Hot nutritious meals delivered to your kids at school.
What's for lunch? You can choose from 2 hot meals or 2 cold meals everyday. Our 1st choice of hot entrées are made of our best sellers that will please the pickiest of our eaters. You can't go wrong with our famous Baked ziti, Mac & cheese and Lasagnas. If you want to alternate meals from one week to another and your child is not so picky, then you will be pleased to choose from our 2nd choice entrées like Tandoori chicken or Sausage & lentils ! And if that still doesn't work for you, then you can go for our delicious wraps and subs, all made with whole wheat. Here are a few highlights on how we make these and why they are good for child. Our homemade Tomato basil sauce is loaded with garlic, onions, carrots and celery and once grinded to hide all these vegetables, it simmers for hours allowing our herbs to release all their flavors ( thyme, rosemary, bay leaves and more! ) We mix whole wheat pasta and regular pasta in our Baked Ziti and kids can't tell ! That provides them with a better source of fiber and vegetables with our tomato sauce. Did you know that coconut milk was good for you? It is high in saturated fat, but the one that the body quickly turns into energy instead of storing as fat. In fact, the main saturated fat that it contains is also found in mother's milk ! It is also a good source of manganese which ensures healthy bone structure. Our Curry Chicken is made with coconut milk ! Lentils are a good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber and prevents blood sugar levels to rise too fast after a meal. It also provides good to excellent amouts of minerals, B-vitamins and protein. Turkey sausage is a better alternative to pork sausage which is a processed food ( full of sodium = No No ). Our Sausage & lentils marinate in a sauce with more than 8 spices, carrots and celery. Yummy ! Orange-fleshed sweet potatoes may be one of nature's unsurpassed sources of beta-carotene. Several recent studies have shown the superior ability of sweet potatoes to raise our blood levels of vitamin A. This benefit may be particularly true for children. We use these in our Shepard's pie, our New Mexican Turkey Stew and our Tyke cigars. A recently rediscovered ancient "grain" native to South America, quinoa was once called "the gold of the Incas," who recognized its value in increasing the stamina of their warriors. Not only is quinoa high in protein, but the protein it supplies is complete protein, meaning that it includes all nine essential amino acids. Not only is quinoa's amino acid profile well balanced, making it a good choice for vegans concerned about adequate protein intake, but quinoa is especially well-endowed with the amino acid lysine, which is essential for tissue growth and repair. In addition to protein, quinoa features a host of other health-building nutrients. Because quinoa is a very good source of manganese as well as a good source of magnesium, iron, copper and phosphorus, this "grain" may be especially valuable for persons with migraine headaches, diabetes and atherosclerosis. Find quinoa in our Ratatouille receipe ! And our basics : Your child food is never fried. Fried foods contain trans fats, which puts you at higher risk of heart disease. They can also make you obese. Instead we bake our food. We limit the use of salt. Too much salt leads to water retention ( weight gain ) and adds pressure to the heart to pump it's blood through out your body. Instead, we use many spices and herbs to give our food that great taste.

Our mission Our mission is to provide a nutritious meal for your child and a great service to parents that don't have the time or the knowledge to prepare healthy lunches before their little ones run off to school. Schools are a perfect environment to educate your child's palate to healthier foods and help them stay away from fast and fried foods. Research shows that providing hot nutritious lunches to kids improves awareness, academics and behaviour. In more and more households, both parents are working and they don't necessarily have time to prepare their child a healthy lunch. A high percentage of children go to school with a sandwich in their lunch box. Nothing's wrong with having a sandwich from time to time, but everyday is surely something to avoid ! So even if you order from Hot Meals only once or twice a week, you are putting some change in your child's lunch habit making it a funner and enjoyable moment. Hot Meals uses technology advanced materials to insure proper food temperatures and make sure that your child's food is safe. The materials we use are recyclable. What is the cost for this great service? Entrées are $3.00 for a standard portion, $3.50 for regular (most common) and $4.50 a large. Addons such as vegetables, fresh fruit, etc. start at $0.50. Taxes and fees may apply. IS YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL ENROLLED IN OUR PROGRAM ? If not, ask them why ! As part of our mission, our program is free for schools and there is no obligation. So maybe you can benefit from our program too ! Be a fit and happy kid ! Research shows that breakfast is a very important meal in the day and skipping it will decrease ones awareness. Yet, more then half of us do not eat breakfast everyday! Kids are more likely to eat breakfast if their parents do. So instead of running in the kitchen to get something in your child's lunch box, order from Hot Meals, sit down with your child, and enjoy a family breakfast! ![]() |
